Thank you for those who attended the 2018 Spring Fellowship. We are looking forward to seeing you next year, April 19-20, 2019! We are pleased to have Pastor Ivor Myers as our keynote speaker. The meetings will be held in Benton Harbor, MI, just 10 miles down the road from Andrews University.

"Spirit Fed, Spirit Led"
The theme of this year's gathering comes from John 14:26. Daily, diligent Bible study, fervent prayer and complete submission to Jesus Christ will allow the Holy Spirit to teach us and give us direction. This is how the Gospel Commission will be fulfilled and the Second Coming of Jesus hastened.

Seminar Presenters

Ralph Trecartin will be talking about how to revitalize your career, your company, and your ministry in his presentation, Revitalize Forward.  Be the “head–not–the-tail.”  The presentation will include discussions on how to move from complacency (or a retrenchment mentality) into a reinvestment approach and how to embrace a forward looking vision.

Ralph is currently the Associate Provost and Dean of the School of Business Administration at Andrews University. In addition, he recently helped to launch the new Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute. He graduated from Atlantic Union College with a BA Degree in theology along with an accounting minor. Later, he received his MBA from Andrews University and taught there for 11 years.  Upon completion of his PhD, Ralph spent 18 years working for the State University of New York - Brockport as a finance professor and then ultimately as the Assistant Provost for International Education.

Ralph and his wife, Virginia, are the proud parents of four young and newly married men.  They have an ongoing mission to encourage their sons along with other young people to walk closely with God and to honor Him.

Esther Knott and Brian Von Dorpowski
will be speaking to us about witnessing and outreach in their presentation, How to be a Contagious Adventist. During this seminar time you will learn how to recognize and create contagious Adventist moments in everyday experiences. It moves members from just knowing our biblical teachings to having a contagious Adventist testimony about what difference the teaching has made in their lives.

Esther R. Knott grew up with parents who were converts to the Adventist Christian faith; they taught her that she was loved by an amazing God. It became her passion to share this with others.  Esther became a pastor in 1980 beginning her pastoral ministry right here in the Lake Union.  She has preached on every continent but Antarctica.  In July of 2013 Esther became a full-time Associate Director of the North American Division Ministerial Association. She is also the Director of the MA in Pastoral Ministry at the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary on the campus of Andrews University.

Bryan von Dorpowski is a 4th generation Seventh Day Adventist.  His parents raised him to make Jesus his best Friend and implanted a desire to share his Friend with those others.  Bryan works as a Senior Financial Analyst in the Stevensville, Michigan location of JR Automation, a global manufacturer of automated assembly equipment.  He also serves as an assistant Elder and Stewardship Director at Pioneer Memorial Church.

Seminars start Friday at 2:30 pm

Main Presenter

Elder Maurice R. Valentine II has served in ministry for over a decade, as departmental leader and administrator for three conference institutions, the Mid America Union, Central States, and currently, the Lake Union where he served as the executive secretary and ministerial director, before being asked to serve as president.

From the east coast to the west he greatly appreciates the doors God has opened, allowing him to train over 500 church leaders in strategic planning, leadership coaching, conflict management, marital enrichment, and team-based discipleship systems for pastors and local church leaders.  Internationally, he has been invited to share his faith in Canada, the Caribbean, and England.

He holds degrees in Communications and Theology from Oakwood University and the Masters of Divinity from Andrews University.  His joy in ministry is most pronounced when he sees people discover their place in God’s plan and then, inspired by their personal calling, move out in ministry to reach the lost.  He’s an avid lover of music and enjoys the exploration of natural wonders with his wife of 32 years, Sharon, and their three adult children.

Rooms can be reserved for $109/night at the Hilton Garden Inn Benton Harbor / St. Joseph. You can call the hotel at 1-269-926-5000 and mention you are with the Lake Union ASI group. The room block will be in place until March 26, 2018.
